The giveaway day at Sew, Mama, Sew took me by surprise, even though I've been wanting to participate (this is my first time). Yesterday, after a very relaxing-summer-kind-of-day, I learned the giveaway was going on and scrounged up the following picture:
The above picture is the first one I ever made and has already been given away. Today I got things together and now I have an *exact* picture of what I will be giving away. Here it is:
A Princess and the Pea toy for your little princess. It will include 12 mattresses (the filling is recycled wool sweaters), 1 princess, and 1 pea. I think the princess in the orange dress is the real princess, but 4-year-old Rosemary disagrees. She says this is the princess who tells the Most Shocking Lies.
I say that this princess can be any princess you want it to be, because she'll live in your home.
All you need to do is leave a comment to win, but I'd love to know what your favorite fairy tale is and why. The winner will randomly be picked at the end of the week. Enjoy!
***
p.s. If you'd like a little more information about the toy, click here. I'm also in the process of opening an Etsy store, so stay tuned!
p.s.s. I will ship internationally. I must have been put in the other category by mistake.
The giveaway is now closed. Thanks so much for the response!

ReplyDeleteit probably isn't appropriate for a 1 year old, but i could put it away for her ;-)
ReplyDeletemy favorite fairy tale is the little mermaid (modern) and the boy who cried wolf (classic)
Too cute, and perfect for those little pretend playtimes!
ReplyDeleteThat's just the sweetest! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteCute little toy. Thanks for the chance to win. I don't know a favorite fairy tale-the first one that comes to mind is Cinderella.

pjjllive(at)gmail(dot)com
I know a little girl who will cherish this princess because she is one, herself!
ReplyDeletevicmil@aol.com
that is hilarious! Princess of Most Shocking Lies, I love it!
ReplyDeleteMy dd would love this!
Oh I am so in love with this idea! I think my little girl would love it, but as for my favorite fairy tale, it goes something like this...
ReplyDeleteThere once was a princess approached by a frog who said "Kiss me and I'll turn into a prince. Then we'll live happily ever after while you bear all my children, cook all my meals, and keep my castle clean."
That night the princess dined on frog legs thinking to herself "I don't think so."
Rumpelstiltskin. Not sure why, maybe because the princess is able to out smart the mean little man. I also love Rapunzel!
ReplyDeletesnugglebugg(at)sbcglobal(dot)net
Hi from New Zealand.
ReplyDeleteThis little doll is so cute. I'd love her for my little girl. She'd get lots of cuddles. I think Sleeping Beauty is my favourite fairty tale.
Thanks for coming over to my giveaway.
i like rapunzel the best...fairy tales are not what i remembered them as a child...my mom must have read me the watered down versions...the true grimm brothers tales often scare me! i love your princess and the pea...my pricess would love this prize! thanks for a chance.
ReplyDeleteRapunzel because of her long hair and because my granddaughter loves that story. I love your princess and I love the story. I think you should pick me!!! :)

Thanks for sharing your creations!!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! If I win I will have to get a book with this story to read to my kiddos.
ReplyDeleteawww! so cute!!!
ReplyDeletesleeping beauty is my favorite.
So cute! I always joke with my daughter that she is like the princess and the pea because she can feel every little thing!
ReplyDeleteI think my favorite fairy tale is The Little Red Hen, because I so often feel like her!

please enter my name in your lovely drawing, ladycolmn(at)aol(dot)com from Florida Gulf Coast area
ReplyDeleteI love your stuff! Supper great!
ReplyDeletewow.. Love the cute princess and the pea! Thanks for the opportunity to win such a lovely doll!
ReplyDeletethis is very cool. i think you should start an etsy store that has toys like these for heaps of different fairy tales. I love all fairy tales but mostly the less common ones were my favourites, i think they seemed more haunting and mysterious to me. I particularly loved "rose red snow white" and "the snow queen".
ReplyDeleteI'm really glad you directed me here when you entered into my giveaway (i'm the suffolk puff queen) I'm going to have a peruse of your blog now :)
And I do agree with Rosemary. I think this princess is an imposter because princesses don't wear orange dresses and have blue hair. But I admire this imposter's spunk, i think she is much cooler than the fussy princess.
happy giveaway day :)

I like the gingerbread man fairytalu, but this is my 2nd favorite! Such a cute idea.
ReplyDeleteSweet as sweet can be.
ReplyDeletebtowsley@comcast.net

ReplyDeleteOh this is just the sweetest and most creative idea! My daughter (and I) would love to welcome her to our home.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure I have a favorite fairy tale - both my daughter and I are super-sensitive and so many fairy tales are spooky! So we make up our own fairy tales with this fan-tabulous game by eboo called "Fairytale Spinner Game". I'm sure we could come up with lots of stories for this Princess! thanks!
Very sweet! My little princess is REALLY into all princessy things at the moment, so this would be perfect for her!
ReplyDeletethis is so cute! I know both my little ones would love her. I don't have one fav fairy tail so I'm going with Shrek (all of them in one!)
ReplyDeleteSuch a great idea for a toy! I love that it's not electronic or plastic or can only be used for one, mindless purpose. Okay, climbing down from my soapbox now. Thanks for the chance to win! My favorite fairy tale has always been Snow White and the 7 Dwarves. Probably because it's the first movie I ever saw.
ReplyDeletethis is fabulous! what a fun giveaway! my fav fairytale has to be rapunzel, i've always wanted to have long hair like her!
ReplyDeleteOh whatr a fun toy! I have always liked hansel and gretal because they were pretty crafty!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely one of the cutest things EVER. My baby girl is just really getting into dolls. She would love her! My favorite fairy tale? I always LOVED the Twelve Dancing Princesses because I always fantasized about beautiful shoes and dresses and balls as a little girl and loved drawing paper dolls of the sisters. Thank you for the chance to win!
ReplyDeletemeg_hilton (at) yahoo (dot) com
That is so cute, thanks
ReplyDeleteToo sweet for words! I'm going to link to this giveaway on my blog too. Maybe one of my sisters will comment to try to win it for Elizabeth. ;)
ReplyDeleteMy daughters would love this! Our favorite is Cinderella because she works happily and is kind to the animals.
ReplyDeleteI think Snow White.
ReplyDeletesteffanie771 at hotmail dot com

ReplyDeleteasfarrell@hotmail.com
That is so cute!! :D Adorable princess!
ReplyDeleteHow gorgeous! My little Miss 4 would love this and her birthday is in a few weeks so it would be a lovely gift.
ReplyDeleteI love Sleeping Beauty because of the fate of it all.
ReplyDeleteI know this is funny! cause its rather new but I love the Swan Princess the story is just so great and I still to this day love watching the movies...I also was always in love with Beauty and the Beast...by the way your princess and the pea play set is the most adorable thing!!!
ReplyDeleteVery cute. That is one of my daughters favorites right now. We are having fun reading all of the different versions we come across. My favorite fairy tale would have to be The Little Mermaid. But the right version, not the Disney one. I love that she gives up her life so that her love can be with the one he loves. Sappy, I know.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!
Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeletebcgood83@yahoo.com
Very sweet. That doll is adorable. I'm looking forward to shop info!
ReplyDeletei really like the princess and the Pea, but I think my all time favorite fairy tale is The Swan Princess, mostly because my grown daughter still looks for the book when she comes home. her other favorite was the original Grimms version of Snow White, the name eludes me.
ReplyDeletedeckerston@aol.com
Oh, I LOVE her - but my daughter would love her even more :-)
ReplyDeleteMy three year old LoVES the princess and the pea. We tell it over and over every night. What an awesome giveaway! Thank you for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful idea, I have a little girl here that would just love this sweet little princess and her mattresses. The favorite fairy tale in our house at the moment is sleeping beauty.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog and entering my giveaway.
Oh I love your princess! My favourite fairy tale is a new one, "The Paper Bag Princess". Have you heard of it?? Fabulous story for both boys and girls! Thanks a bunch :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite fairy tale is The Little Mermaid, the Disneyfied version. I enjoyed it with my children so it has lots of good memories for me.
ReplyDeleteWow--what a neat and unique gift. I have never even thought to make a toy like this and then I go and find yours all cute and ready to come live out our house!! ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks,
kelli
kellbell_6@hotmail.com
so cute!!!
ReplyDeleteI love to enjoy the many versions of Cinderella, and to think about how they mean different things about women, royalty, magic, and families. :) But my truly favorite fairy tale is Hansel and Gretel, for similar reasons, actually. ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win your cute doll!

This is so cute...and I have two little grandnieces who would like it for imaginary friend. My current favorite fairy tale is the Billy Goats Gruff -- with the sound effects of the clippity clop over the bridge to eat the sweet green grass. Thank you for this giveaway. mlwright29 (at) hotmail (dot) com
ReplyDeleteI always loved Cinderella and that she was seemed happy dispite all the wickedness around her even before she met the prince.
ReplyDeletesaradfarris(at)hotmail(dot)com
Cute. Kids would love it. thanks
ReplyDeleteThis is really cute! I think we would have some serious fun with this at home. I love the Princess and the pea other than that I tend to go for any stories that would have good costumes - cinderella - 'hello ballroom scene' or calories - 'hello ginegerbread cottage'. That's me alright. Thanks for pointing me to your giveaway! makeitgiveit(at)gmail(dot)com
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute! It's always fun to have toys that go along with a book...makes the book more fun for the kids. Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteOh dear, I had a good giggle at your daughter's description of the orange princess. LOL, it sounds like something my two little girls would say!
ReplyDeleteMy daughters (2 and 4) love the Princess and the Pea story but my favourite is Thumbelina. There's just something so romantic about a tiny girl who ends up marrying a tiny prince who lives in a flower for a castle!
Thanks for stopping by my giveaway and pointing me to your cute giveaway. Oh, and all the best with opening up an Etsy store!
:) Deb
