Giveaway - The Princess and the Pea

The giveaway day at Sew, Mama, Sew took me by surprise, even though I've been wanting to participate (this is my first time). Yesterday, after a very relaxing-summer-kind-of-day, I learned the giveaway was going on and scrounged up the following picture:

The above picture is the first one I ever made and has already been given away. Today I got things together and now I have an *exact* picture of what I will be giving away. Here it is:

A Princess and the Pea toy for your little princess. It will include 12 mattresses (the filling is recycled wool sweaters), 1 princess, and 1 pea. I think the princess in the orange dress is the real princess, but 4-year-old Rosemary disagrees. She says this is the princess who tells the Most Shocking Lies.

I say that this princess can be any princess you want it to be, because she'll live in your home.

All you need to do is leave a comment to win, but I'd love to know what your favorite fairy tale is and why. The winner will randomly be picked at the end of the week. Enjoy!

***
p.s. If you'd like a little more information about the toy, click here. I'm also in the process of opening an Etsy store, so stay tuned!

p.s.s. I will ship internationally. I must have been put in the other category by mistake.

The giveaway is now closed. Thanks so much for the response!

  34. Oh I am so in love with this idea! I think my little girl would love it, but as for my favorite fairy tale, it goes something like this...
There once was a princess approached by a frog who said "Kiss me and I'll turn into a prince. Then we'll live happily ever after while you bear all my children, cook all my meals, and keep my castle clean."

That night the princess dined on frog legs thinking to herself "I don't think so."

  35. Rumpelstiltskin. Not sure why, maybe because the princess is able to out smart the mean little man. I also love Rapunzel!

  46. this is very cool. i think you should start an etsy store that has toys like these for heaps of different fairy tales. I love all fairy tales but mostly the less common ones were my favourites, i think they seemed more haunting and mysterious to me. I particularly loved "rose red snow white" and "the snow queen".

I'm really glad you directed me here when you entered into my giveaway (i'm the suffolk puff queen) I'm going to have a peruse of your blog now :)

And I do agree with Rosemary. I think this princess is an imposter because princesses don't wear orange dresses and have blue hair. But I admire this imposter's spunk, i think she is much cooler than the fussy princess.

    happy giveaway day :)

  52. Oh this is just the sweetest and most creative idea! My daughter (and I) would love to welcome her to our home.
I'm not sure I have a favorite fairy tale - both my daughter and I are super-sensitive and so many fairy tales are spooky! So we make up our own fairy tales with this fan-tabulous game by eboo called "Fairytale Spinner Game". I'm sure we could come up with lots of stories for this Princess! thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Very sweet! My little princess is REALLY into all princessy things at the moment, so this would be perfect for her!

    ReplyDelete

  69. Very cute. That is one of my daughters favorites right now. We are having fun reading all of the different versions we come across. My favorite fairy tale would have to be The Little Mermaid. But the right version, not the Disney one. I love that she gives up her life so that her love can be with the one he loves. Sappy, I know.

  83. This is really cute! I think we would have some serious fun with this at home. I love the Princess and the pea other than that I tend to go for any stories that would have good costumes - cinderella - 'hello ballroom scene' or calories - 'hello ginegerbread cottage'. That's me alright. Thanks for pointing me to your giveaway! makeitgiveit(at)gmail(dot)com

My daughters (2 and 4) love the Princess and the Pea story but my favourite is Thumbelina. There's just something so romantic about a tiny girl who ends up marrying a tiny prince who lives in a flower for a castle!

Thanks for stopping by my giveaway and pointing me to your cute giveaway. Oh, and all the best with opening up an Etsy store!
