Today was my little girl's last full day of preschool. It's not completely over - she still goes one day next week, but so do the parents for a picnic and a program. What this means is that today was also my last full day to myself. I figured that I had better use the day wisely and there have been two big things on my To-Do list for awhile. The first is to reorganize the kitchen cabinets and the second is to make a dress out of upcycled t-shirts.
Can you guess which option won? Never fear ... I didn't spend the ENTIRE day on this dress. I also managed to clean the dining room, organize all the papers, catch up on a little daytime TV, and make a lasagna. But I didn't reorganize the kitchen cabinets. I wonder if I will ever reorganize the kitchen cabinets?
Anyway, I'm really happy with this dress. I've been wanting to make it since I first saw it on I Am Momma, Hear Me Roar. A couple of friends have even beat me to the punch. I worried when it was time to sew the front and back together because Rosemary was at preschool and I didn't want it to be too tight. However, I was too impatient to wait, so I went ahead with it. Turns out it fits just fine.
In a couple of days, this kid is going to be a bona fide kindergartner. I've been signing her up for summer activities, and she no longer fits into the preschool category. She is excited, ambitious, and full of joy. Watch out world, Rosemary's coming.
