This sew-along is going surprisingly well. I really love learning in this type of environment. At home, at my own pace, and at the cost of the fabric and pattern. It seriously would not be going quite as well as it is if I wasn't getting wonderful tips from Amy. (As a side note, I just realized she already has tomorrow's post up and I'm seriously resisting the urge to get started ... No, Kate, it's not worth staying up all night! Right?)
Anyhow, all that's left is the hem. It will match the yoke of the dress (yep, I actually know what that means now) (for those of you who don't, it's the green part at the top).
I was hoping it would be big enough to put long sleeves underneath it. I'm thinking of this more as a fall dress - perhaps 1st day of preschool. However, every time I mention that to Rosemary, she says, "but I can wear it now, too, right?" It is definitely a perfect fit - not a little big, like I was hoping it would be (I did add 1.5 inches or so to the middle of the dress and boy am I glad I did!).
Now I'm just going to have to learn how to knit a brown button-up sweater ... or perhaps one of you would like to take on this task for me? I know there are some knitters out there. Cough, cough ... she's currently a size 5, cough, a little bigger would probably be better. Cough, cough.
