slumpy, slump, slump, slump

February was sort of a bust as far as meeting my resolutions. The month of February, in and of itself, was a phenomenon to me. I fell and fell hard into the Minnesota winter slump; all varieties of hope and excitement for the world left me and I felt I was headed into endless despair. And, yet, dear God, where on earth did February go? How can it already be over?

We are now inching into March and the weather is beautiful. Snow is melting, the sun is shining, it's nearly 40 degrees and it feels warm. And yet, I'm reluctant to let myself relish the feeling of spring because ... I live in Minnesota. It is not spring. This is just a teaser, and boy-oh-boy will this teaser make the rest of the winter feel extremely long.

So, where was I? Oh yes, I did not successfully achieve my resolutions. One might think that all this being holed up into my Brainerd, MN lower level of a duplex would be an incredibly good reason to be crafty. However, I would argue that it is also an incredibly good reason to read The Twilight Series. That's right, friends, I fell hook, line, and sinker for these books.

I am a Twimom. I was pretty much the last person to jump onto that bandwagon, but when I finally fell, I fell hard. I read all 4 books in about 2 weeks, and then I fell into a withdrawal, rented the movie, and read the pdf posted on Stefenie Meyer's website that is written from Edward's perspective. I resisted the urge to start rereading them, and I am now past it. I feel I can move on.

So on February 27, when Rosemary wore a hole into her jeans, I thought, this is it. This is my chance to at least meet ONE of my February resolutions. That's right, friends, I sewed a patch on Rosemary's jeans. Hey, it's something, right?

  1. Wowza.

I actually sorted through about an inch of the huge stack of papers on my office floor last night, so I'm ahead.

  2. I think a patch is a great accomplishment. And I love that little owl fabric.
